Lindsay Robinson
Service Director, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
I started my career as a teenager in private legal practice and over 10 years worked in various roles within the voluntary sector offering services in respect of social welfare law. I always had a passion for supporting mental health recovery and when I was offered an opportunity to retrain in Social Work, I followed this path with a clear interest in specialising in clinical and therapeutic services.
Over the next 8 year period, I worked as a Clinical Social Worker in CAMHS North Lincolnshire, and gained further experience in West Yorkshire CAMHS. I followed my interest to specialise in working with children and families, in particular attachment and developmental trauma and pursued experience as a Therapeutic Social Worker on an infant/parent research project which was set up by and the NSPCC, based on cutting edge research from neuroscience, attachment theory and trauma; as well as offering therapeutic interventions to looked after children and parents of children who had experienced sexual abuse. I later moved into a position as a Therapeutic Social Worker in South Yorkshire offering interventions to children and families who were adopted or placed on special guardianship orders.
Keen to increase availability of therapeutic provision for children and families in my home town of Doncaster, and inspired by the many talented and committed colleagues who I had met and developed alongside in my professional journey (and am grateful that many of whom have joined me or contributed to creating the service we have today), in 2020 I started to develop Eden House Wellbeing and associated services.
I currently work as a practicing Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and Service Director of Eden House Wellbeing and Service Director for Eden House Community Links C.I.C.
Qualifications
I am currently on my training journey in the Attachment, Neurodevelopment and Psychopathology (ANP) Model - and then hoping to make time to turn my passion for animal and nature based therapeutic practice into a working reality!
Robbie Miles
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist (ACP Registered)
I specialise in helping young people navigate complex emotions and behaviours, working to uncover the underlying causes of their difficulties. Using psychoanalytic approaches, I support children, adolescents, and their families to understand and process challenging feelings, fostering emotional resilience and healthier relationships.
Young people with mental health problems can often respond to people and situations in ways that they do not understand and cannot control. Their emotions can be extreme and are often expressed through their behaviours and in problematic relationships. These difficulties often extend to relationships with services and professionals, often preventing them from benefiting from the care and opportunities that are available to them.
I am trained to carefully observe what a young person may communicate, both verbally and non-verbally through their words, behaviours and play. This helps me ‘look underneath’ the surface of difficult emotions, behaviours and relationships to help young people and their families understand what is driving their difficulties. My training also enables me to work with difficult and disturbing thoughts and to help young people make sense of their experience. Part of my role is to help young people put their confused, frightened, angry, or painful feelings into words, rather than acting these out in unhelpful or harmful ways. I offer an experience of being with someone who can receive, digest, and then return in a more manageable form, their unprocessed feelings. This in time hopefully engenders within the young person a sense that big feelings can be tolerated and thought about. As I ‘walk alongside’ them on their therapeutic journey, they hopefully begin to express their emotions in less disturbed ways and start to return to the normal process of child development. They are also likely to feel less anxious, more able to learn and are better equipped to sustain friendships.
Within my role I can offer young people weekly Psychotherapy and I also offer support to parent/carers and the professional network around the young person, especially in relation to understanding the child’s ‘behaviour as a communication.’ This can help develop a capacity to remain thoughtful under the pressures that looking after children with increased needs can bring. Within my role I can assess for suitability to engage with Psychotherapy and I also offer Psychoanalytic State of Mind Assessments - a comprehensive assessment offering an insight into a young person’s emotional world and how they relate to those around them. Such a report offers a psychoanalytic perspective that helps inform clinical thinking and planning.
After 6 years working as a Child and Family Social Worker, I spent 5 years retraining as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist within a Tier 3 NHS CAMHS service. Post qualification I remained in this service for a further 5 years before starting my role with Eden House Wellbeing. I have a range of clinical experience and have offered psychotherapy to a wide range of clients, including adopted, fostered children and those with varying Mental Health presentations, such as anxiety, low mood, self-harm and depression. Presently I can offer weekly therapy and this can vary in duration dependent on need. For younger people and those who find talking a little more difficult, I am able to provide creative materials and toys in order to facilitate communication and understanding.
Qualifications
Beccy Roberts
HCPC Registered Music Therapist
In 2003 I qualified with a Masters Degree in Music Therapy and I'm registered with HCPC. I have enjoyed a rich and varied career to date and my clinical work with young people has included projects within family centres, working in schools and offering a pilot music therapy service within a community CAMHS team. Since working independently for Eden House Wellbeing I have facilitated therapy with young people and families who have accessed services through the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund, both at the centre in Doncaster and facilitating outreach sessions in primary and secondary schools within the area. In 2023 I co-facilitated a 16 week therapy group for adopted teenagers at Eden House which had a creative focus and promoted emotional regulation and exploration of identity.
The primary focus of my career involved working with adults in a forensic mental health setting, where I developed specialist skills in working with individuals and facilitating groups. Supporting clients to reduce aspects of risk whilst managing their own mental health and recovery was an integral part of her work, and I remain interested in offering therapy with adults of all ages.
Music Therapy is a diverse clinical intervention, in which the therapist and client(s) journey through a unique musical relationship to work towards change and growth. Talking and using a range of other creative media are also important aspects of the sessions.

Qualifications
Njoki Clegg
Play Therapist, EMDR Therapist
I am a dedicated therapist specialised to support to children, adolescents, and adults dealing with emotional and psychological challenges. My holistic, trauma-informed approach allows for tailored therapeutic interventions that consider the unique developmental and emotional needs of each individual, whether a child, adolescent, or adult. Through my work, I aim to facilitate healing, emotional growth, and stronger relational connections for all clients.
My foundation training was in Social Work, I furthered my knowledge and skills through specialised training in Play Therapy, EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Sand-tray Therapy.
Play Therapy & EMDR Specialist Sand-tray Therapy for Children
I primarily use Play Therapy with children and do incorporating EMDR Sand-tray Therapy, especially when children have experienced complex trauma. Play Therapy provides children a safe, expressive channel where they can communicate and process difficult emotions through creative play. The addition EMDR Sand-tray Therapy allows the processing of trauma in a developmentally appropriate manner, using play as a child’s most natural way of communication.
EMDR Therapy for Adolescents & Adults
For adolescents and adults, I utilize EMDR Therapy. EMDR is highly effective in helping individuals of all ages process trauma and negative life experiences. EMDR works through the brain's natural healing processes to desensitize distressing memories, ultimately empowering individuals to move forward in life.
Filial Therapy
I offer Filial Therapy, an approach aimed at strengthening parent-child relationships. This form of therapy involves working with both the child and their parent(s), helping parents become therapeutic agents in their own child’s healing process. Filial Therapy enhances emotional bonding and improves the overall family dynamic, promoting healthier interactions and attachments.
Specialized Assessments
In addition to therapeutic interventions, I also conduct assessments such as the CAPA (Child Attachment and Play Assessment). This tool is effective in identifying a child's attachment strategies, understanding their relational behaviours, and exploring how these behaviours impact their relationships with attachment figures and others. These assessments guide both treatment planning and parental insight, offering a clearer understanding of a child’s emotional and behavioural needs.
Qualifications
Heidi Miles
Psychotherapist in Advanced Training
I have over 20 years of experience in working with children and families as well as the systems they find themselves in. Some of the areas of work have included complex trauma, pre- and post-trial therapy, life story, gender and identity, attachment and loss, disability, learning disability and difficulties, fostering, adoption and kinship/connected care. I have lectured and offered training/workshops in the area of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, trauma and neglect.
More recently I have been undertaking training as a Relational Integrative Psychotherapist and I use my background in developmental and trauma knowledge as well as creativity to explore patterns, or adaptations of relating to self and others which can become the blueprint for future relationships. Within the therapeutic relationship, these ‘enduring relational themes’ are communicated and explored. The Relational Integrative Psychotherapy provides the container for integration of aspects of self which have been essential in the past, but are no longer serving the client in the here-and-now of our lives. The work is often long term and always at the pace of the client.
Qualifications
Katy Roberts
Integrative Counsellor
I have been a quailed Counsellor for 10 years and have worked in several settings with children and young people, including schools, colleges and universities. During this period of time, I have developed an interest and passion in supporting young people in the care system as the direct result of my time fostering and also working with young people in an independent visitor role. After working as a foster carer with my partner for 6 years I decided to further my knowledge and qualifications and attend several courses on attachment, abuse, trauma, and how these experiences affect children, young people and the wider family and community. I attended a lot of training around trauma, abuse and attachment and this ignited my passion for wanting to support these children further through therapy and support. This role was very rewarding and emotionally very demanding at times but allowed me to gain insight into this field in which I wished to work and study further.
I also worked to support and better inform the relationship with foster carers, school, employers and adoptive families. DDP, TheraPlay and Play Therapy are both principles and strategies I use and adapt to support my work and my case load interventions.
My current role involves me working systemically with families, carers, parents, children and young people and the support around them. This can often involve communicating with social workers, family support workers, schools, colleagues, CAMHS and extended family to gain valuable and essential information to best support my clients and their families in identifying and addressing key issues, including trauma caused by abuse, neglect, neurodiverse issues and developmental trauma.
My previous roles within a Local Area Children's services department enabled me to work with adoption and SGO families. My case load included supporting break downs and issues within families often affected by previous trauma, abuse, neglect and issues linked to attachment as well as supporting the expectations of parents and carers. My role required me to educate others on the affects of trauma and better support parenting, teaching and understanding of children and young people and how they communicate their feelings and emotions.
Qualifications
Bill Peverelle
Music Therapist - HCPC Registered
As a qualified Music Therapist (MA Music Therapy, Distinction), I have worked across diverse inpatient, education, and community settings with both children and adults. My clinical experience encompasses group and individual therapy for a varied client base, including individuals and families dealing with complex psychological needs, older adults, neuro disability, autistic spectrum conditions, adopted children, and people with dementia. As a HCPC registered Music Therapist, and skilled musician (RWCMD BMus Hons), I am adept at addressing the unique challenges faced by these populations.
The therapeutic relationship is central to the work of a Music Therapist. This relationship is established and developed, through musical interaction and play, in the safe non-judgmental space of the therapy room. Importantly, musical ability or experience is not required to engage or benefit from music therapy as we work towards non-musical aims. In my professional experience common aims include, emotional expression, social interaction, movement, self-awareness, cognitive function, speech/language skills, addressing feelings of anxiety or low mood, sensory stimulation, attention, turn-taking, or relaxation. By adopting a non-directive approach, clients can create their own unique musical language, facilitating exploration and self-expression.
Beyond the therapy room I have actively contributed to the field through research and advocacy, promoting the benefits of Music Therapy, and an empathetic approach. I have delivered workshops and presentations to educate healthcare professionals and the wider community about Music Therapy. Through my experience, compassion, and personal insights, I strive to make a meaningful impact on those whom I have the privilege to work.

Ben Egginton
Therapeutic Social Worker
My Social Care Journey started at a young age, and I have had people closest to me working as Social Workers for most of my life. You could say that this has become the family business! This pushed me into experiences volunteering in charities in South Africa as a teenager. I started my career as a Social Worker working with Children in Care as a Looked After Children’s Social Worker. This allowed me to understand the journey of a child through Social Services and into the care of the Local Authority. I developed a passion for how I could make placements the best they could be; to improve the outcomes for the whole family including delivering high quality Life Story Work.
I have spent the last several years working within an Edge of Care team in a specialist team aimed towards teenagers in an attempt to keep them, where safe to do so, with their birth families this has allowed me to sharpen the skills developed throughout my professional journey. Over the last year I have started my therapeutic journey with Eden House.
