Welcome to

Eden House Wellbeing

Therapeutic and Wellbeing Services in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Eden House Wellbeing.

Eden House Wellbeing was formed in 2019 to offer a range of therapeutic interventions for adults, children and their families. We are a local service with a therapy centre based in Edenthorpe, Doncaster.

As well as therapeutic interventions we offer a range of workshops, training and supervision to professionals.

We are experienced in working with children and families, adoptive/special guardian/kinship care families, parents and carers, looked after children, care leavers and children living in alternative arrangements; as well as children and young people with mental health difficulties and special educational needs.

Discuss your concerns

Therapeutic assessment and interventions take place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy – and without judgement. In this space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

A unique range of family services for the unique needs of your family

Our team consists of a multi-disciplinary network of associate practitioners including: child and adult psychotherapists, creative therapists (music, drama and art), family therapists, clinical psychologists, therapeutic social workers, occupational therapists, counsellors, mental health nurses and holistic therapies. As such we provide a range of appropriate assessments and interventions; dependent on referral needs.

This can include one off assessment or consultation, short-term therapeutic support, long-term therapeutic support, individual therapy, family therapy, parent/carer therapeutic support, groups and workshops.

Services for Professional Referrers and Self-funded referrals

Much of our work is funded by local authorities (services for: adopted, SGO and looked after children or children with EHCP provision). If your child has a Social Worker or EHCP Coordinator please discuss any therapeutic need with them and they can explore a direct referral to our service.

We also share our building with a number of therapists/counsellors who offer self-funded therapy and who may be taking private referrals. We don’t employ therapists, so all of the practitioners are independent of our service, but we do check that anyone sharing space in our building is professionally qualified and registered, has supervision, is not subject to any current complaints, has DBS and professional insurance in place.

For self funded referrals please look through the profiles of our team. Our practitioners who have capacity for privately funded referrals will be indicated with a green tick on their profile photo. Please email the practitioner directly to discuss your needs.

Please see BEE Community Minded to learn about our no cost/low cost charitably funded wellbeing services and follow our social media pages for updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a referral?

For Local Authority/NHS/Education/Insurance funded referrals and enquiries please get in touch through the contact form for further information.

For self-funded referrals please look through the profiles of our team. Where it is indicated with a green tick on the Practitioner profile page, this means that the Practitioner has capacity for privately funded referrals. Please email the Practitioner directly to discuss your needs.

Please be aware that we receive significantly more requests for support than our service has the capacity to accept.

Our voluntary Directors are working hard to develop our service, access charitable grants and fundraising capacities and increase accessibility to helpful local and national signposting and self-help materials in order to address some of this need. When we have low-cost, or funded no-cost therapeutic interventions available we will update this on here and via our Social Media pages.

Please see BEE Community Minded to explore ways you can support this part of our service.

What are your qualifications?

All of our team are self-employed associates/independent practitioners. For professional quality assurance and safeguarding measure, we check that anyone offering services is : professionally qualified and registered, DBS checked, declare that they are not subject to any current complaints, have suitable clinical/modality supervision and have professional insurances in place to practice.

Any associate practitioner or independent practitioner using our building should be able to provide you with details of their professional registering body as well as details of their professional background, experience, privacy and complaints policies.

You can also contact our Service Director directly via the contact form if you have any concerns about the professional conduct of anyone offering services on our behalf or from our building.

How much does therapy cost?

For Local Authority/NHS/Education/Insurance funded referrals please contact us directly to discuss your referral needs and for a quote for work.

All of our team are self-employed associates and set their own fee structure dependent on professional qualifications and experience. The type of practitioner needed will be dependent on presenting need and clinical/therapeutic complexity. We appreciate that this is a difficult area to navigate when looking for someone to help with your therapeutic needs. All privately funded practitioners will ideally provide an initial, brief no cost discussion to explore your needs and ensure that the modality of work that they offer is suitable, or signpost you to another suitably qualified professional and/or service.

As a rough guideline for privately funded referrals; a counselling or wellbeing session might cost £25-45 per session, a psychotherapy session might cost £50-£80 per session and a session with a Clinical Psychologist or Senior/Specialist Therapist might cost £80+ per session. Many of our team offer sliding scales and concessions where possible.

We are sometimes able to offer low cost/no cost therapeutic sessions through our charitable projects either via our team offering pro bono/concessionary sessions or when we have trainee therapists in residence. Please see BEE Community Minded for more information and follow our social media pages for updates or see ‘How do I make a referral’ for signposting to other services who may be able to help.

What are your opening times?

All of our team are self-employed associates who offer a range of appointment times between 8am and 8pm Mon to Fri, and 8am to 3pm Saturday.
